About us
The “Music for Peace” Foundation was founded in 2021 in the Netherlands by passionate musicians Maria Nemtsova (piano), Katja Pitelina (transverse flute) and Vitaly Vatulya (saxophone). This Foundation is based on an International Humanitarian Project that organizes annual charity concerts and master classes in various places around the world where people have suffered from natural, terrorist, military or political disasters.

Maria Nemtsova was born in Moscow, Russia and began playing the violin at the age of five, but shortly afterwards took up the piano. By the age of 6 Maria won her first piano competition. Maria Nemtsova was accepted into the competitive Tchaikovsky Academic College in Moscow followed by Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she graduated in 2007 with honours. Maria was the only pianist who has been accepted as a William Smith scholar to the Royal College of Music in London in 2007.
Internationally acclaimed soloist, Vitaly Vatulya became a prize-winner of more than twenty national and international competitions, among which are “Delphic Games”, one of the most prestigious competition in Russia, First prize at the International Saxophone Competition ‘Marco Fiorindo’ in Italy, International Saxophone Competition in Nova Gorica (Slovenia).
Residing in the Netherlands, Russian flutist Katja Pitelina is a skilled and versatile musician who creates beautiful concert programs, successfully combining both a modern and historically informed performance.
Katja’s expertise and dynamism is reflected in her remarkably broad repertoire encompassing music from 17th century Baroque to contemporary pieces – for each one she chooses the most appropriate flute from her personal collection of modern and period instruments.
